Connection to Echolink does need a special character ( * ) is needed plus the node or user number you would like to connect to. For instance the node number for this system (* W1PIG ) or * 15061.
To disconnect from the server ( radio system ) use the # key to disconnect when done your conversation.
I do NOT allow CONFERENCE CALLS as it would tie up the repeater system for too long of a period. The only time Conference is used is in the ARES CONNECTION.
To use the system first check to see if the repeater is in use by others stations then PLEASE ANNOUNCE before you send your tones . Example .. : K1PIG sending tones ( drop the PTT to make sure no one is on the repeater ) then send your connection tones as needed.
Make your contact and when you have completed your conversation please disconnect by using the pound key ( # ) this will disconect you.
The use of the * command lets us use both controllers and not get an error on the system. So far this is working and seems to be a simple fix. So remember just use the * and the node number to connect.
A list of the Commands are provided below:

Connect Random Link *01

If you would like me to add any special Speed Dial numbers please let me know as we can have as many as you would like. So if you have a favorite repeater/link or user that you would like to connect to with a special code let me know and I will add it to the list.
Thank you and enjoy the system it can be a great help if you are away from home and would like to connect back home or if you are here and would like to see how the weather or the conditions are in another part of the world. Remeber this is heard all over the world and local as well so use good Amateur pratice .
